Willik on base

Just capturing a moment with Willik, practicing his string base fingerings.
Love this nifty-fifty 50mm prime lens. I've had a week to play with it, and I'm sold. I'm not sure what the higher quality lens of the mm's will do, but for $100, this lens is superb!!!

Now you can see how cool and green it looks. I know it's a bug, but you gotta admit it looks cool. Gog is so creative!

Last week, right before we left for vacation, Willik spotted a cicada which was molting. We've seen hundreds of empty shells, but we've never seen it molting. It delayed our leaving, as I had to capture it. It took about 20 minutes for the cicada to make it out of her/his shell. It shook itself out, and then its wings unfold/grown. It was amazing! It can also speak to the transformation that happens in our heart when we decide to follow Christ. We are a new creation!
There will a total of 4 photos of the cicada molting session.

Attack of the waves - part 3

The day we made it to Ocean City, MD, the waves were strong, and constant. The undertow was super heavy, and the lifeguard called everyone on the beach close to him, to give a few tips about staying safe.
The next few days will contain captures I made, from a safe distance away, not obscuring the expressions as they happened.

Egret Elegance

Yesterday we went to the bay beach in Somers Point. This egret was there a long time. At first he was a little too far for me to get any decent photos. But when he got closer, I got my chance. He was not too scared, and I was able to get close. It was really fun watching him "fish". I also love his stance and elegance. Sine I've been dubbed nature's paparazzi by my husband, I'd say I've portrayed this snowy egret in a good light. I will post some more photos of him on my flickr later on.

Another animal we saw at the zoo, this cottontop tamarin was pretty cute! According to Willik, this is "Maurice", "king Julian's" helper in the movie Madagascar.
