Track meet at 6
When I was 6, I guess I was learning to read and write, and playing with friends from church. Mostly good, clean fun, but uneventful.
Willik, on the other had, has been in a free summer program, learning all about the sports of track & field.
Cityparks Foundation is a nonprofit organization that promotes events in the nyc parks, and they provided this as well. Twice a week there was a track & field training, where they learned the different sports like long jump, javelin, relay, and hurdles. It was an hour long for the PeeWees, and longer for older kids. They learned to stretch and warm-up before racing too.
Yesterday was the big track meet, including kids from 13 parks, from all over the city! It was a great sight, and alot of fun. It was a beautiful day. Fabio took off from work, and we were joined by my sister to see Willik compete. He competed in Long Jump and 55m hurdles. He did awesome. His personal best at long jump is 7ft.2in.

Willik has the body for track and field. I hope to do some more running with the kids around the track.

Wow, they are the most awesome pictures of Willik in Track and Field! He looks great! Running must run in the family. I was a fast runner as a kid and was in the track team in grade school. His dad was a fast runner too as you know.
