a mission trip...

So, I have an incredible opportunity...

That is, to go on a mission trip for a media team[artists, photographers, writers, filmmakers] to Indonesia, and possibly a couple surrounding countries.

Talk about a perfect match!!! There's nothing I love more than to use my artistic talents for anything "God-related"; not the least of which is a mission field. So, from the first moment I read about the need for such a team, I've been wanting to go!.

Well, needless to say, a trip like that doesn't just materialize right before your[my] eyes, so, there are a ton of details to take care of.

So, now there are all those things concerning international trips to 3rd world countries. Passports, visas, vaccinations, raising the funds, coordinating Fabio's schedule, and my parents' schedule to be with the boys while I am going, and getting the prayer and moral support I need to be part of this endeavor.

I'm a confirmed team member to go; part of a small group of roughly 4 people.

I've been working on some of these, and some are still on the "to-do" list.

I've been overwhelmed and blessed by how many people have responded with their willingness to keep me in prayer throughout this process. It's an honor and a privilege to have such wonderful family and friends.

The real exciting news is that I was just told that my parents' tiny brazilian church would like to contribute to a large portion of the money that needs to be raised for the trip. WooHoo!!! That is amazing news! God is sooooo good! And of course, my parents had no small part in this happening, so, thanks mom and dad! So, I hope this will be the place that I can continue to post news about the upcoming trip, which is to happen in the middle of July sometime. I'll be blogging...

If you just found out about this, would you be willing to pray for me? Let me know, post me a comment, ask me questions, give me your input!

You know I'm praying for you!!! God is just a miracle worker. We never would have seen that donation coming, but God knew it the whole time.

I love you and I know God is doing a wonderful thing in you and through you.

Now I know what Fab meant when he said the "dark times" were coming. He was thinking of having to babysit both boys alone! :)

Congratulations and godspeed on your trip. It sounds like it will be a real adventure.

BTW, Michelle just had Seth Moses on May 23rd at 10:54PM

Hey, Glauc!
Here's an interesting bit of "God planning"! When I got to my office last Monday, there was a note from a really dear friend from Indonesia, who was the Chaplain at Columbia for the Muslim Students' association! She has a BA degree from Harvard, and a PhD from Columbia. She always wanted to teach at the University of Jakarta.
Anyway, I haven't heard from her in probably nine or ten years! But, I'm sure she'd have some "insider" people that might be able to help you guys.
I don't know . . . Just that it's a Muslim country, and she's Muslim.
I'll keep praying about whether or not this is a connection that God wants made!

Taylor and I are praying for you!
love,
Susan
