Mohawk at 18 months

Look at that face. Downright irresistible! And sporting that mohawk at such an early age! He makes his mom so proud!

Baby signs
Now that Phoenix is 18 months, we have less of a need to sign with him, since he'd starting to communicate with words well.
But when he was around 9 months, we started to use baby sign language with him, in order to be able to learn with more accuracy, about some of his needs.
Today, while researching about css, and trying to learn about improving my blog's design, I came across a post by Eric Meyer, about his daughter and her learning the signs. It was a great post, and in reading the comments, it reminded me that we shouldn't stop teaching Phoenix signs, but we should all take the time to learn more sign language. It's only going to improve our language skills, our acceptance of people and will help keep our brains sharp. That's exciting!

snow fun
This has been a winter of warm days, mostly in the high 40s and 50s. We've only had one or 2 snowfalls, which didn't amount to much.
A couple days ago, "real" winter decided to arrive, and it brought some snow with it. It was only a couple inches, but since we were enjoying a holiday together, and we had a backyard to go play in, we thought we'd get the kids bundled up to play in the snow.
Once outside, Willik was happy throwing snow around, cleaning off the cars, and enjoying the falling flurries.

Phoenix had a completely different idea of fun. Since he was outside, this was his chance, once again, to throw a ball around. [In case you don't know this, Phoenix's favorite thing in the world is a ball.]
So, as you can see in the picture, all Phoenix did was play basketball in the snow.
